چکیده
Abstract Background The leaves of Phlogacanthus thyrsiflorus are used as an anthelmintic remedy by the tribes upper Assam. This study evaluates its toxic effects in laboratory bred mice and rats. Mice were orally dosed for 5 days, whereas rats 28 days variations behaviour, feeding habits blood parameters recorded. vital organs processed histopathology to observe any alternations from normal architecture. Results No mortality or adverse manifested this assessment. Evaluated parameters, namely body weights relative organ weights, appeared be similar control animals. Also, haematological serum biochemical histopathological studies revealed results. Conclusions indicates that P. may not capable causing rats, hence, traditional use could continued. However, other further validate carried out.

Antimicrobial Activity of Cassia didymobotrya and Phlogacanthus thyrsiflorus
The in vitro antimicrobial activity of Cassia didymobotrya and Phlogacanthus thyrsiflorus leaf extracts were studied against selected bacteria and fungi following Agar disc diffusion method. Leaves were extracted using distilled water, methanol and ethyl acetate. Three different concentrations were applied to the disc (100μg, 250μg and 500μg/disc) for each extracts. While the aqueous extracts o...

In the present study, we tested in vitro different parts of 35 plants used by tribals of the Similipal Biosphere Reserve (SBR, Mayurbhanj district, India) for the management of infections. From each plant, three extracts were prepared with different solvents (water, ethanol, and acetone) and tested for antimicrobial (E. coli, S. aureus, C. albicans); anthelmintic (C. elegans); and antiviral (en...
